Diary of a sugar addict #2

18 February 2013: Poured/casting Sugar Practical

I drew a few designs in preparation for our first sugar class but was a little unsure of what to expect. It turned out to be pretty fun, arranging metal bars, rings and whatever you can find that can withstand 155℃ to create the mold. I saw a lot of sugar sculptures from past students who had posted their work on the internet and most of them were very geometrical. It wasn’t really my style and I wanted to create something 1) different, 2) crazy 3) me. And this is what I created…

I can’t say it’s the most beautiful piece of work but at least it was…different…crazy…me?

Stay tuned for the next part of my sugar adventure…
