Plaisir

For those who don’t parler francais, “plaisir”  means “pleasure” – at least according to Google Translate anyway. It is perfectly named as its name says it all.

Luscious layers of mousse au chocolat noir and suprême vanille (think panna cotta cross vanilla custard-like cream) sandwiched by a light spongey biscuit joconde. A combination of whisked yolks and sugar brushed on top, caramelised with a blow torched and finished with a neutral glaze. Really, it’s just asking to be eaten.

So I did. And too much of it.

And did it live up to its name? It definitely did.

Bon appetite!
